The IT Services organises training courses for staff on the use of the videoconferencing technology at University. This page contains information about these courses, documentation and links to online resources on videoconferencing. The IT Services also offers one-to-one consultation meetings to guide staff on the use of the videoconferencing facilities.

The Training Course

The training course offered by the IT Services consists of two sessions.

The first session, Using the Videoconferencing facilities, aims at familiarising the participants with the facilities offered by the University of Malta including the use of the equipment, bookings and preparation of the resources for the videoconference session.

The second session, Teaching through Videoconferencing, deals with tips and strategies for the videoconference-class management.

Full version (2.25MB)
A complete guidebook including technical and pedagogical tips for managing videconference sessions. A trouble shooting guide and glossary of terms are also included. This will be the courseware given during the videoconference training course offered by the IT Services
Includes terms and terminologies that are most commonly used in videoconferencing.
A basic introduction to the videoconferencing technology and the location of the videoconference facilities at the University of Malta.
A step-by-step guide on how to start operating the videoconferencing system.
An illustrated description of the videoconferencing equipment at the University of Malta.
A technical overview on how to place/receive calls using the videoconferencing equipment at the University of Malta.
A list of rules and protocols for using the videoconference facilities.
A list of rules and protocols to be distributed among students/participants for a more effective use of the videoconference facilities.
A complete guide to videoconferencing for students and participants in a videoconference session.
An evaluation form template, to be utilised by the individual users as necessary (can be printed and distributed among participants as feedback on the videoconference session).
A user log sheet to be kept and utilised for personal use.

Consultation Meetings

Members of staff who have followed the videoconference course and require further assistance with planning, designing and setting up the videoconference session are requested to set-up a meeting with IT Services staff. These meetings are also recommended for users who will be organising a session at another campus location, away from the videoconferencing suite.
